During her career, Dr. Jin has been at the forefront of some of the most consequential innovations and events in the financial services industry. Drawing on this experience, she has been able to provide her clients with unique insights into a wide range of subjects including structured products, derivatives, and risk management. Over the past few years, Dr. Jin has extended her expertise to many new and emerging innovations in the financial industry including cryptocurrencies, decentralized finance, and AI.

As a co-founder and managing director of PVA Toucan International, Dr. Jin provides advisory services to some of the most prestigious financial institutions, regulators, and government agencies around the world. In this position, Dr. Jin has also worked closely with attorneys at some of the most respected law firms on dozens of complex, high-profile disputes and legal matters. Dr. Jin began her work in the area of litigation and disputes at the Berkeley Research Group where she was managing director and a lead resource in the company’s financial services practice.

Previously, Dr. Jin was a co-founder and chief operating officer of Wilmington Trust Conduit Services (WTCS), an affiliate of Wilmington Trust Company, a nationally chartered bank. WTCS provided a broad suite of administrative and operational services to issuers and managers of and investors in complex structured financial products. It also provided fund administration services to hedge funds and private equity funds investing in corporate and commercial real estate loans, distressed assets, and structured credit products. 

In her role, Dr. Jin was responsible for overseeing the daily operations which involved the administration of customer assets, transactions, and securitizations. At the time, WTCS had more than $16 billion in assets under administration at the time with offices in New York City, the Cayman Islands, Dublin, and Luxembourg.

Prior to forming WTCS, Dr. Jin was the CEO of Toucan Partners and President of PVA International, sister consultancies based in New York that provided business and technology solutions in the areas of capital markets, trading and investments, and risk management. While at PVA/Toucan, Dr. Jin was engaged in more than one hundred projects with more than fifty clients on four continents, including money center banks, international brokerages, central banks, government agencies, and investment managers including Citigroup/Citibank, Société Générale, ABN AMRO, Bankers Trust, CIBC, Bear Stearns, Merrill Lynch, FHLMC, Central Bank of Columbia, Fifth Third Bank, and Bank of America.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Jin held senior positions in fixed-income trading and sales at Chase Securities (nee Chemical Securities) and Smith Barney Shearson where she developed trading strategies, modeling prepayment risk and option adjusted valuation of structured products for both trading desks and institutional clients. She specialized in mortgage-backed securities (“MBS”).
